The Junortoun Community Action Group (JCAG) is preparing to participate in a great Australian tradition by hosting a sausage sizzle on election day this Saturday. The Action Group will hold a community BBQ at the Junortoun Polling Booth with proceeds to support local projects.
JCAG secretary, Kevin de Vries, said “Elections are an important day of civic participation across Australia. In Junortoun our Action Group will be a part of polling day, serving sausages to voters and their families.”
“We will be complementing the various pitches from political parties with the aroma of sausages and onions, and the tang of tomato sauce!” Mr de Vries said.
“Our Action Group suggests that people vote local, meet their neighbours, and of course buy a sausage to support community projects.”
The Junortoun polling booth will operate this Saturday at the Bendigo Baptist Church, 757 McIvor Highway, Junortoun.
